Dehydrated skin is typically the lack of moisture in the stratum corneum. Even an oily prone skin can experience epidermal dehydration, therefore dehydration is a lack of water, not oil. Often, the sebaceous oil activity can still be normal – or even overactive – in dehydrated skin.
